Beach fishing at dusk
You can throw a line in off the beach, around some rocks, hire a boat or join a fishing tour. With any luck you might catch bream, barramundi, flathead, mackerel, queenfish, trevally or whiting, to name only a few. Naturally fresh bait is best, but many local shops sell frozen bait, which will get you started.
Just make sure you don’t fish in a National Park green zone. Heavy fines apply, but maps are readily available.
